The Atlas Center was created to transform insight into lived experience.

Life asks us to wear many roles. Some fit us well… others we inherit, perform, or outgrow. Over time, it's easy to lose sight of who we are beneath expectations, survival, and routine. We may understand our patterns, know where they came from, and still find ourselves living the same story…

We believe lasting change happens not only by talking about life, but by experiencing it differently. Through experiential methods like psychodrama, sociometry, expressive arts, and relational healing, therapy becomes a place to experiment, practice, create, and discover. Rather than simply analyzing the past, we help people expand their capacity for spontaneity, deepen their relationships, and step into new possibilities with greater courage and intention.

Our work is grounded in the belief that every person carries far more potential than the roles they've learned to play. Healing is not about becoming someone else; it's about reclaiming the parts of yourself that have been forgotten, silenced, or are still waiting for permission to emerge. Whether you're navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, burnout, grief, identity exploration, or a major life transition, our goal is to help you move beyond surviving toward a life that feels more connected, creative, and authentically your own.

The Atlas Center is more than a therapy practice. It is a place for growth, community, and transformation—a place where people come not only to heal, but to become.

Meet the Founder

Alex Kissinson, LCSW

Hi, I’m Alex Kissinson. I founded the Atlas Center because I believe therapy can be more than a conversation about change—it can be a place to experience change in real time.

Throughout my career, I've been drawn to the moments when people surprise themselves: speaking words they've never been able to say, discovering strengths they didn't know they possessed, or trying on a new role that suddenly feels more authentic than the one they've been carrying for years. Those moments of spontaneity are where healing begins.

As a psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, and psychodrama practitioner, my work is grounded in experiential and relational approaches that invite people to move beyond understanding themselves intellectually and into living differently. I value curiosity over judgment, collaboration over expertise, and genuine human connection over clinical distance. My role is not to tell people who they should become, but to create the conditions where they can discover that for themselves.

My hope is that everyone who walks through our doors leaves with a greater sense of agency, deeper connection to themselves and others, and the confidence to create a life that feels fully their own.
